Upper Extremity Care

Upper extremity orthoses are devices which a physician prescribes to restore or improve the functional and/or structural properties of and individual’s musculoskeletal system or their nervous system. In general, musculoskeletal problems include those resulting from sports, work related, or trauma based injuries. In the area of nervous system disorders, upper extremity orthoses are used with patients who have had neurological problems, such as multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and patients with brain or spinal cord injuries. An additional area of application for upper extremity orthoses is in the treatment of arthritic conditions.
