Cranial Remolding Orthoses

There is a growing increase in the number of infants (ages 3 to 18 months old) with cranial molding issues. At Green Prosthetics & Orthotics we have certified specialists extensively trained in the evaluation, casting, and fitting of helmets.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY – COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN

In recent years Green Prosthetics & Orthotics has made a major technology change in the way measurements are taken for cranial helmets. In the past we used a casting method. This procedure involved plaster, unnecessary ‘trauma’ (for both the patient and parent) and was quite messy.

We now use a CAD (Computer Aided Design) system which eliminates the casting process and dramatically improves the turnaround time for fabricating a helmet. See our OMEGA TRACER SYSTEM in the Technology Section of our website.

The speedier delivery leads to earlier treatment, improved fitting, and increased functionality. The scanner allows us to document and compare infant head shape data before, during and after orthotic treatments. Additionally, progress can be evaluated and documented with printed reports. These can be sent to referring physicians and other interested healthcare professionals.
